Gluten Free Baked Doughnuts

Here is my weekend baking experiment from Torie Jayne's recipe

Yep, I realise they look nothing like doughnuts! But I don't have a doughnut pan, so I just made them in a patty cake pan. My mix was a bit thicker than I think it was supposed to be, so next time I will weigh the ingredients, instead of being lazy and just using the cups :) They were still pretty delicious though!

A Few Good Books

I love to read - it's how I relax. I hated reading until I was about 9 years old, then my mum gave me a book
I had no idea it was first published in 1948! I used to spend my pocket money on Trixie Belden books :)
and I have been reading ever since. I sometimes think she may have regretted giving me that book because I used to spend the entire day just lying on my bed reading book after book.

Here are some more recent books that I have enjoyed.

also called The House at Riverton. I can't wait to read her latest book, the Secret Keeper.

Waxed Irish Linen Crochet Jewellery

Last year I bought some waxed Irish linen. I couldn't decide on what colours to buy, so I got a sample pack - 10 yards of 34 different colours. I made a few bracelets and necklaces and then stopped using it, I'm not quite sure why. There is a gorgeous range of colours in waxed linen and I recently rediscovered my package of it and started using it in my crocheting. So far I love it! I just listed this bracelet today and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

These are all the colours I got last year

Crochet Supplies and Magazine

I recently did a post about some gorgeous craft magazines and I have found another one that looks like it has some cute patterns - Crochet today! (link below). Growing up, craft magazines were always for 'old ladies', so now either craft magazines have become amazing, or I am one of those old ladies....I vote for the first option!

I also found some gorgeous yarns from Pierrot, a Japanese company. The site is in English, the range is great and the prices seem really good. And postage...just $US10 if you order over 10,000yen of yarn (very easy to do!). And they also have some cute patterns.

Pretty Thumbtacks

After seeing this on Such Pretty Things Blog:

Thumbtacks_4
Earrings as thumbtacks on a pretty corkboard - gorgeous!

I then had to check out Forever 21 online as that is where the earrings above are from. They have some gorgeous things, but postage to Australia is ridiculous. So, then I went for a walk around the shops, but couldn't find anything that would work and that was cheap enough to use as thumbtacks. So then I checked out Ebay.....
