Books on My List
I was looking at some new books the other day and these looked interesting. The Accidental Apprentice is by the same author as Slumdog Millionaire - I haven't read the book, but I did enjoy the movie.
"Harper Curtis is a killer who stepped out of the past. Kirby Mazrachi is the girl who was never meant to have a future.
Kirby is the last shining girl, one of the bright young women, burning with potential, whose lives Harper is destined to snuff out after he stumbles on a House in Depression-era Chicago that opens on to other times.
At the urging of the House, Harper inserts himself into the lives of the shining girls, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He's the ultimate hunter, vanishing into another time after each murder, untraceable-until one of his victims survives.
Determined to bring her would-be killer to justice, Kirby joins theChicago Sun-Times to work with the ex-homicide reporter, Dan Velasquez, who covered her case. Soon Kirby finds herself closing in on the impossible truth . . . " (from Good Reads)

"Life pivots on a few key moments. This is one of them.
Sapna Sinha works in an electronics store in downtown Delhi. She hates her job, but she is ambitious and determined to succeed, and she knows without the money she brings in, her family won't be able to survive. Little does she know it but her life is about to change forever.
As she leaves the shop on her lunch break one day, she is approached by a man who claims to be CEO of one of India's biggest companies. He tells her he is looking for an heir for his business empire. And that he has decided it should be her.
There are just seven tests she must pass. And then the biggest lottery ticket of all time will be hers." (from Good Reads).

Time Flies When You're......
I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted! Time has just flown by.
At the beginning of the year I listed a load of jewellery and bag charms in an 'Out with the Old' Sale and hinted at The Whimsical Blossom moving in another direction. I have finally managed to get this started and I have listed some vintage dresses in my Etsy store! I am working on expanding this, but due to time, work and finances it is a slow process.
Next dress to be listed - the material is just gorgeous and the dress is very flattering. |
I have also been working on finding an alternative to the waxed Irish linen that I have been using for my jewellery as it is not easily available here. I have tried some different materials and this experimentation has led to some new jewellery.
