Crochet Fairy Lights

I love fairy lights. I had dragonfly fairy lights strung up on the back patio, and I have a stash ready for 'one day'. Recently I was making some tiny crochet hearts, with no real idea of what I was going to use them for, and thought they would look gorgeous as fairy lights. The ideas just grew from there!

Pink butterflies - I have about 15 more to make before I have enough!

I was in a newsagency the other day, checking out the craft magazines, when I came across a new magazine from the UK - Reloved.

All about upcycling, it had some gorgeous projects I would love to try!

At $14.95 it was a little pricey for me, so I'm not sure that I will be buying it every month, but it is a pretty magazine with inspiring projects and articles.

Hoooked Zpagetti

Looking for different materials to crochet with, I came across a lot of tutorials online for upcycling t-shirts into yarn - t-yarn. I gave it a try, but I didn't have any old t-shirts without seams. I know you can use the seams as well, but I didn't like the effect.

So I had a look online for more info on t-yarn and found Hoooked Zpagetti and much to my excitement, found 2 suppliers nearby. So off I went to Sidestreet Vintage, a beautiful store with supplies, items by local crafters/artists/designers and some Zpagetti! I then went to Handmade Highstreet, another lovely store, and bought some more. I then went back to Sidestreet Vintage to buy my third lot! (This process did take place over about a month).

Two of the colours I bought - I haven't used these ones yet!

And the rug I made - or bath mat or.......

 

They now have a new product - Ribbon XL - and I can't wait to give it a try!

Once again I have had a long break from my blog. There has been no real reason for the break - changes at work, more stress....the usual things.
